#1 Regardless of what I try to look up I always get Genesis 001:001. This problem occurs because the CD-ROM is being started from the CD-ROM drive instead of the sub-directory CDBIBLE on your hard drive. To fix this problem, try the following:

If you are in DOS:

• Step 1
From a DOS prompt, type "C:", press ENTER (C is the drive on which the program is installed). (If you have not installed your program, please do so now. You can find information on installing this program under INSTALLATION).

• Step 2
Type "CD\", ENTER.

• Step 3
Type "CD_CDBIBLE", ENTER. (The _ symbol means to add one space).

• Step 4
Type "CDBIBLE", ENTER. NOTE: If any one of these commands resulted in a "Bad Command or File Name", you have not properly installed The Bible Library™.

If you are in WINDOWS:

• Step 1
With the program's icon (not the group's icon) highlighted, press the ALT and ENTER keys at the same time.

• Step 2
After completing Step 1, you should see "Program Item Properties". Make sure and change, if necessary, so that the command line reads this way: C:\CDBIBLE\CDBIBLE.BAT (C is the hard drive on which the program is installed).
If you have not installed the program, please do so now. You can find information on installing this program under INSTALLATION.
NOTE: If after completing Step 1, the top of the window reads "Program (Group) Properties", press the "Cancel" button and then doubleclick on the group icon that holds the "Program's Icon" for The Bible Library and complete Step 1 again.

#2 It says I need 512K of memory to run the program. Most computers, if purchased after 1991, should have about 4000K of memory. But memory capacity must be configured efficiently to realize the full capacity of your computer's memory power. The Bible Library™ needs to run within "conventional" memory. To find out how much conventional memory you have, type "MEM" at a DOS prompt. Next, look at the "Largest Executable Program Size". It should read something like 511934. If the Size is below 520000, you need to free up memory. Do one of the following:

• USE MEMORY MAKER.
If you have already loaded Windows 95, use MEMMAKER which is found in the Windows sub-directory. If you have Microsoft DOS 6.0 or higher, you should have a program called "Memory Maker". This program resides in the DOS sub-directory and is started by typing "MEMMAKER" at a DOS prompt. You must be all the way out of Windows, not just using the DOS icon. You must exit Windows completely to run the "Memory Maker" program! After typing memmaker follow the prompts. (You may wish to have your DOS manuals handy.) This should give you more than enough memory.

• CHANGE THE CONFIG.SYS AND AUTOEXEC.BAT FILES:
Change your CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files to load programs in high memory (those that can, that is). This procedure should be used by anyone that has DOS 5.0 or earlier. (See your DOS manual.) If you are in Windows, look under "File" in the Program Manager, then at the "Run" box type:
C:\windows\write c:\config.sys
and press ENTER.
Change the "FILES=" and "BUFFERS=" lines in the CONFIG.SYS file to read as follows:
FILES=35
BUFFERS=35.
Be sure to save the file under the same name, CONFIG.SYS. Also, be sure to re-boot the computer (CTRL+ALT+DEL) in order to load these changes before re-staring The Bible Library™ program.

#3 When I try to run the program, it just flashes blue and then quits. This condition is caused by one of two things:
(1) The Bible Library CD-ROM disc in NOT in the CD-ROM drive. It must be inserted into the CD-ROM drive for the program to work.

(2) The files are not set high enough in your CONFIG.SYS file.
To fix this, simply type from a DOS prompt:
edit c:\config.sys
Change the FILES= line to be:
FILES=35.
Usually, it is a good idea to set your buffers up to at least 35 also (i.e. BUFFERS=35). Then press the ALT key to activate the menus and use you arrow keys to move around, and save the file under the same name.

The three solutions to common problems above should take care of 90% of all errors. If  this does not correct your problem then try re-installing the software.

If you do not have version 1.1b and you would like to use this product in Windows then you should download the Upgrade file   and install the product using the new files.
